In the mid-late 1980s, Moss Icon pioneered a progressive, highly emotive sound that stood in stark contrast to just about everything even remotely considered punk-rock at the time. In retrospect, they more resembled an inspired marriage of the bleak post-punk leanings of Joy Division with the raucous riffage of the Wipers, albeit considerably less accessible thanks to Moss Icon's more sinister tone, exploratory arrangements, and frontman Jonathan Vance's almost stream-of-conscious sociopolitical rampages.

The ensuring Scripted serves as the Decatur, IL-bred player's national debut album, but between the immediately apparent chemistry amongst front woman Ariel, guitarist Shawn Jump and drummer Adam Kronshagen, coupled with powerhouse production from Aaron Sprinkle (Anberlin, The Almost, Acceptance) and Rob Hawkins (Fireflight, Philmont), the group sounds nothing short of innovative, infectious and explosive. Though it might be natural to make comparisons to current tastemakers like Paramore and Flyleaf because of their kinship of female leadership, the guys in the group add additional gasoline-induced instrumentation, while the more menacing elements suggest listeners shouldn't necessarily judge gender before genre. Two CD live release from this side project led by Asia members John Wetton and Geoff Downes. The concerts included four gigs in Japan, which took place in Fukuoka (February 7), Osaka (February 9), concluding with two performances in Tokyo, on February 11 and 12.
