Artist Biography

Yanick (born Yanick Toussaint on October 12, 1984) and Divine (born Cheri Campbell on October 2, 1985) together form the vibrant female Rap and R&B duo, Indio. The name Indio is short for “independently owned,” a declaration of their proud independence as women, as individuals, and as artists. These two ladies are bringing back the true essence, energy, and style of earlier female R&B sensations.

Influenced by megastar groups TLC and Destiny’s Child, Indio is ready to stand at the forefront of the music world. The combination of emotion packed tracks, heartfelt lyrics, and in-your-face attitudes make Indio not only a hot duo, but an incredibly rare and raw talent. With so many groups trying to break into the industry, Indio shows that it takes more than catchy songs and bootylicious dance moves.

Lyricist Divine and songstress Yanick possess that indescribable “it” factor, the one that makes the world stop, look, and listen.
