A widely recognized Violinist, Soloist, and Concertmaster, Jaime Mansilla has performed concerts in 30 different countries, and in the best concert halls of the world, including three appearances at Carnegie Hall in New York; the United Nations; Place des Arts- Montreal, Canada; Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria; Martinu Hall in Prague, Czech Republic; Bartok Radio Hall in Budapest, Hungry; Jagellonian University in Krakow, Poland and many others. He has performed extensively throughout Europe, with concert appearances in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Holland and Switzerland, to name a few.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Mansilla has shared the stage with the giants of the music world such as Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Claudio Arrau, Tony Bennett, Samuel Adler, and many others relevant artists. In 1986, he was invited to become a member of the World Philharmonic Orchestra in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, under the baton of Lorin Maazel. His career as a concertmaster is equally impressive. Some of his past positions include Concertmaster for the Orchestra of Opera in Cape Town, South Africa; for the Opera Orchestra in Lima Peru, the Symphonic Orchestra of Chile; Conductor and Soloist of the Johann Strauss Chamber Orchestra, guest Concertmaster for the Miami Symphony Orchestra, Ars Flores SO and Walenstein S O in USA. In 1992, he played in Carnegie Hall and drew positive reviews from the New York Times including an accolade as “a superb technician”. In 1993 he performed in the first concert ever to be held in the world in the Antarctic territory, serving as soloist and conductor. This landmark performance was covered for CNN, BBC of London and all the South American press outlets for radio and television. That same year he was awarded with the Prize of the Critics. In 2000, he was awarded the Altazor Prize for his work in contemporary music. Mr. Mansilla has a Bachelor Degree from the Catholic University of Chile and the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh USA. Recent recordings in USA include CDs of Vivaldi´s "The Four Season" with The St. Angelis Chamber Orchestra (2008); "Beethoven Violin Sonatas" with the pianist Emily Baker (2008); CD "The Magic Violin", the CD "Song, Romances and Boleros" with the St. Angelis Chamber Orchestra (2009); the CD "Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto" with the St. Angelis Chamber Orchestra (2007); the CD "A Night in Vienna" with music of Johann Strauss and the Johann Strauss Chamber Orchestra (2005).
