After finishing "The Far Away" on his home laptop, Jami say's and quote "I feel like a tremendous weight has been lifted off my shoulders"
Jami felt each track of the song in a new experimental light. While combining a whopping 4 genres in one song, this is a nuance and a breakthrough in the eye's of a struggling artist. Day in and day out has been a tremendous hardship. In one month, is beloved brother of 38 passes away due to heart complications. While living in NYC he is met with the triumphs and downfalls of what this city has to offer him. After being booed off the Apollo stage and turned down by many Record labels, Muhammad Jami still continues to make music, and with this new album, he focuses on the simple and powerful elements of his life and music.
Muhammad speaks on the creation process:
"For me, pure music comes from the heart and soul, not the money. I felt this music more than any other track I've ever made on this Dell Laptop that's still kickin' ! furthermore, I would like to mention that I worked on this album mostly on the bus rides back and forth from Easton Pa to NYC, seeing the transitions between the Rural and Urban suggested the theme to this Album.
It starts off with the crowded city, people walking around with music strapped to their heads slowly going deaf. As we pass them on the city streets, we can't listen on our own. Towards the dawning of a new day, we find love and spiritualness through our pragmatic lives. People showin affection to each other while heaven and earth around them is erupting. We find ourselves out here with the ones we loved in the past and present. When they fall in our arms and we hold them tight during rough times, it means the world to us.
Escaping the city is hard for one who is well adjust to it. The turning, winding highways and tunnels lead us to our escape and leaving everything we knew behind. Our minds turbulent thoughts are our lonely blues that sing to ourselves to comfort our worrying thoughts. Finally, we reach our destination, the ocean, the nature that surrounds us, we are completely on our way in a place that is far away from our once known, city home. "
