Just because you’re a kid—or have kids—doesn’t mean you want to listen to endless renditions of the Wheels on the Bus. Punk rock IS kids’ music, after all; it’s fun, fast and noisy, and it’s not afraid to colour outside the lines.
Jam Toast’s “Silly grown-ups, punk is for kids” is three-chord fun for the whole family, featuring such rockers as “Roller-Skating Wiener Dogs,” “My Sandbox Rocks!” and “Toys on the Dancefloor.” All songs are written and performed by me, a stay-at-home dad and punk rock veteran, with vocal duties shared by me and my two boys, seven and three.
And kids love it.
“Jam Toast brings everyone out of their shell to laugh, sing along and let loose,” says Doris, a pre-school teacher who plays the CD daily for her classes. “Even the most timid child gets up and moves freely. Great Music! Great Fun!”
