Joshua Scott Chasez (born August 8, 1976), better known as JC Chasez, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and occasional actor, best known as one of the lead vocalists in the former pop group 'N Sync. In 2004, Chasez released a solo album, Schizophrenic, and has gone on to write and produce for music acts such as Girls Aloud, Basement Jaxx, David Archuleta, and the Backstreet Boys

. He is currently a judge for ''America's Best Dance Crew.

Biography

Early life

After being adopted, Chasez was raised in Bowie, Maryland as a Mennonite.publisher = Adherents.com He has a younger brother named Tyler and a younger sister named Heather. Chasez attended the former Belair Junior High School and then Bowie High School. His mother read an article in the Washington Post announcing auditions for Disney's The Mickey Mouse Club, and encouraged Chasez to try out. Chasez was soon cast as a performer in the fourth season and stayed until the show's cancellation in 1994. It was during his time as a Mouseketeer that Chasez befriended future bandmate Justin Timberlake, along with other future entertainers.

Personal life

Chasez currently maintains homes in Los Angeles and Orlando.

While appearing on the New Mickey Mouse Club Chasez had a longterm relationship with fellow Mousketeer Nikki DeLoach, who he mentions in the liner notes (by nickname "Peaches) of *NSYNC's self-titled album. During his *NSYNC years, from 1999-2001, Chasez dated Bobbie Thomas, currently an editor at InTouch magazine as well as a correspondent for The Today Show.

In 2004-2005 Chasez dated Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria.

In early 2008 Chasez had to dispel rumors of a relationship with friend and actor Chace Crawford saying, "The fact of the matter is I'm straight and I'm allowed to have [1] friends." url=www.people.com/people/article/0,,20186928,00.html

Chasez has also been previously linked to actresses Tara Reid and Emmanuelle Chriqui.
Chasez is also a judge for America's Best Dance Crew.
