Twenty-two rock and country legends duet with Jerry Lee Lewis on this incredible package, celebrating The Killer's impact on American music. Among the luminaries igniting these all-new recordings of seminal rock 'n' roll are Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson, Toby Keith, Little Richard, Merle Haggard, Neil Young, and more.
Jerry Lee Lewis has dominated every stage he walked on for fifty years and out-lasted virtually every critic along the way. The last survivor of the Million Dollar Quartet session at Sun, which included Elvis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash, his presence remains indomitable. He 's recognized by his powerful musical and performance style and his unique personality. A prodigious piano player, Lewis plays with uncontrolled fury and abandon and is never at a loss for words. He's a rock 'n roller who could never quite get the country out of his soul, and a country singer who could never forget that he'd been rock 'n roll's brightest star. Jerry Lee Lewis is the stuff of legend.

EU collection of previously unreleased Gospel recordings from The Killer himself. The truth is, these may be the best Gospel recordings Jerry ever made in his long career. "I believe in that old time religion!" he shouts, and proceeds to show us why, with a little spontaneous preaching and testifying between selections. Thankfully, the tape was rolling. These barely documented recordings from December, 1970 were made three days after he renounced worldly music. They reveal Jerry working with his road band on the stage of a small church out on Highway 41 in Memphis. There are humorous moments too, as when Jerry flogs his latest LP to the congregation ("You need the album and we need the money"). But in the end, nobody at his record company knew what to do with these tapes and they were originally unissued. Thanks to Bear Family, the music receives the treatment it should have some 40 years ago. Accompanying notes by Sun historian Hank Davis examine the music and document the events in Jerry's life that led to these recordings on this particular Sunday morning. Bear Family.
