Artist Biography |

Jerry Scag has been creating stimulating and provocative rock music most of his life. He picked up his first guitar at an early age and hasn’t put it down since. This self-taught musician is an innate songwriter penning his first tunes in his early teens as his peers were learning songs by there favorite bands. “I never was excited about playing another band’s or artist’s music – I figured they already did it – now what can I do?”
Jerry went on to play gigs in the New York City and New Jersey clubs scenes in several original bands in which he was always the primary songwriter. His most favorite ventures were as the Lead Guitar player for “Wet”, and then as the Front Man for “Killer Elite”. After that he decided to branch out on his own without the restrictions that sometimes come from being a part of a band or group. “It can sometimes be hard to express yourself in your writing when other band members have there own unique idea of what the band should sound like or the songs should be written about.”
Jerry’s current solo project is hard hitting and he has never been more profound, yet sometimes showing vulnerability. With this project he has written, produced and performed everything you hear. His demanding, raw vocals and guitar work are matched to perfection with a wall of sound that is both classic and new. It is very difficult to sometimes compare Jerry Scag to other artists for he seems to be in a class all his own, and that’s the way he seems to like it. “I never really try to sound a particular way – I just put it out there as it comes to me, for better or worse – hopefully better – but I have to be true to myself otherwise what’s the point?”
