In a time where most female rappers need to be naked to make a point, Jerusa has taken the road less chosen by letting her music speak for it self. With a name to remember Jerusa Altema’s passionate and heart felt music offers a breath of fresh air to the industry.

Since the tender age of 12 Jerusa has been writing and inspiring others as one of the three members of the all girl group No Self Control. After attending college and completing her B.A. in Marketing at Hofstra University she decided it was time to peruse her dream again. “You always come back to your first love, and music is my first love. Growing up in the tough streets of Brooklyn, the melting pot of the world, Jerusa has seen a lot and experienced plenty. “Growing up in BK, gives you a voice and I use my voice through my music. I have always had a lot to say and nothing has changed.” With empowering club banging songs like “ I’m that chick” and the emotional “Sound off” you can feel the soul of BK pumping through her veins. Like the pioneers that came before, MC Lyte, Salt & Pepper, Mary J.Blige, TLC, Lauren Hill, commanding the respect of both men and women Jerusa is here to stay and ready to make her mark on the world.
