Album Summary
2011 release, the fourth album from the Britpopsters. The Future Is Medieval is the follow up to 2008's Off With Their Heads, their third album in a frantic three years which saw them sell over six million albums, win countless awards including three Brits and tour the world non-stop. After its' release the band took time out to take stock and work out their next move and following a well-deserved break (and inspiration gained from a holiday frontman Ricky Wilson took with friends), they regrouped and started writing. They built their own studio in the basement of their management offices in London's Shoreditch and work started on the new record. With countless songs in the bag, they worked with producers Tony Visconti, Ethan Johns and Owen Morris as well as trying their hand at producing their own tracks with drummer/songwriter, Nick Hodgson at the controls.
After the release of 2008's Off With Their Heads, produced by Mark Ronson, the band took time out to take stock and work out their next move. Following a well-deserved break (and inspiration gained from a holiday frontman Ricky Wilson took with friends), they regrouped and started writing. They built their own studio in the basement of their management offices in London's Shoreditch and started work on the new record. With countless songs in the bag, they worked with producers Tony Visconti (David Bowie, Iggy Pop, T. Rex), Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Ray LaMontagne, Emmylou Harris) and Owen Morris (Oasis, The Verve) as well as trying their hand at producing their own tracks with drummer/songwriter, Nick Hodgson at the controls. Out of this came Kaiser Chiefs' most forward thinking output to date. First track on the album and the band's 14th BBC Radio 1 playlist hit in 7 years, "Little Shocks" features a fantastically creepy keyboard riff, and sets the tone for the record's sonic electronic experimentations. Hear it at RCRBLBL NOW! First US single "On The Run,"(produced by Stephen Street, who also produced the band's debut album Employment) sees the band voicing out against the cruel opinions of modern society with an electrifying guitar line, while The Independent notes the "sinister sci-fi charm" of "Child of Jago." "Kinds Girl You Are" is a fast paced, true to form Kaiser Chiefs song showing off one of the bands best traits- their witty songwriting. The album's closing track, "if You Will Have Me," is a Lennonesque orchestral ballad, a son's message to his estranged parents. Start The Revolution Without Me shows a much more sinister side to the bands songwriting. The lyrics and melodies are a bit darker this time around, and it's an utterly successful shift in direction. The band has released three albums Stateside including Employment, Your's Truly, Angry Mob and Off With Their Heads. Kaiser Chiefs have sold over six million albums worldwide, won countless awards including three Brit Awards and toured the world non-stop. Rolling Stone called Kaiser Chiefs music, "great British pop in the dynamic lethal-irony tradition of the mid-Sixties Kinks, the early Jam and, with that vintage-New Wave tone of Nick Baines' keyboards, XTC's 1979 album, Drums and Wires."
Yours Truly, Angry Mob is the Kaiser Chiefs's brilliant follow-up to their debut, Employment.
Kaiser Chiefs were one the great musical success stories of 2005. Fast forward to 2007 and Kaiser Chiefs (Ricky Wilson - lead vocals), Andrew "Whitey" White (guitar), Simon Rix (bass), Nick "Peanut" Baines (keyboards) and Nick Hodgson (drums and vocals) are about to unveil their much anticipated second album.
Yours Truly, Angry Mob wields its musical might from the start in the shape of "Ruby" - an infectious single to rival anything the band have done before. "Angry Mob", a favorite from the band's European festival appearances last year is destined to be a universal fan favorite. "Heat Dies Down" will surely have 'em pogoing in the aisles en masse, while the stunning "Everything Is Average Nowadays" is perhaps the thread linking Yours Truly... with its predecessor. Yours Truly, Angry Mob, as one band member has been heard to utter, "is an album full of big choruses and even bigger guitars". Maybe so. It's also the work of a band hitting their creative stride. All hail the Chiefs!

Album Summary
Sometimes the greatest success stories sprout from the tiniest of ambitions. When Kaiser Chiefs formed up in Leeds around the summer of 2003, their aim wasn't to conquer stadiums and change the world. Instead, these five Britpop-obsessed oddballs began plotting a rather more modest plan. In the shadowy corners of clubs and venues across the city Ricky Wilson (lead vocals, owner of stylish blue and orange suit), Andrew 'Whitey' White (guitar), Simon Rix (bass), Nick 'Peanut' Baines (keyboards and modeller of impressive pork-pie hats) and Nick Hodgson (drums and vocals) decided to form a band that would harness the awesome capability of being able to blag an early slot at the following year's Leeds Festival.
The Kaisers' story actually begins some time before they'd decided to name themselves after a successful South African football team. School friends Simon, Peanut and Nick had been playing together in various bands since the age of 15 before spying art school graduate and restless-ball-of-energy Ricky singing with a Rolling Stones tribute band.
Right now, everybody wants a piece of the Kaiser Chiefs. Blur producer Stephen Street was so bowled over he offered his services for debut album Employment. A barrage of bouncing art-pop brilliance, it's scheduled to soundtrack 2005 from the minute it hits stereos this March.
2008 release. Off With Their Heads could/should be described as being the first 'proper' Kaiser Chiefs' album with a solid base on which is constructed a series of tracks which come together as an altogether less frenetic and more cohesive piece of work than previous outings and is almost certainly the better for it. The album was produced by Mark Ronson and Eliot James at RAK and Eastcote Studios in London in the Spring of 2008 and mixed by Andy Wallace (Nirvana, LCD Soundsystem, Run DMC) at Soundtrack Studios, Includes the single 'Never Miss A Beat'.
KAISER CHIEFS Yours Truly Angry Mob (2007 UK limited edition 2-disc set - Ricky Nick & co have returned with this follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut album Employment; comprising a 13-track CD album including the singles Ruby & Everything Is Average Nowadays plus Bonus Region 0 DVD featuring footage of a live performance in Germany their cover version of Your Song and Tims Short Film. Presented in a hardback book style sleeve with card slipcase)

Double vinyl LP pressing of their 2008 album. Off With Their Heads could/should be described as being the first 'proper' Kaiser Chiefs' album with a solid base on which is constructed a series of tracks which come together as an altogether less frenetic and more cohesive piece of work than previous outings and is almost certainly the better for it. 2007 two CD set released to coincide with Radio One's 40th Anniversary on the air. To celebrate this occasion, Radio One have asked 40 of today's biggest acts to cover 40 tracks from each year of its history. This album is the result. Starting with probably the UK's biggest indie act, Kaiser Chiefs, covering the first track ever to be played on Radio 1, The Move's 'Flowers In The Rain', running all the way through to the modern Jazz-Folk-Soul superstar Corrine Bailey-Rae's version of The Raconteurs' 2006 hit 'Steady As She Goes'. Taking its cue from last year's successful Live Lounge, this album compiles exclusively recorded tracks of classic songs re-imagined by today's biggest stars. Also features Amy Winehouse, Robbie Williams, The Feeling, KT Tunstall, The Raconteurs, Lily Allen, Razorlight, Mark Ronson, The Fray, Natasha Bedingfield and many more. UMTV.
