"Keep it Light" Song Update in Broadjam 6-Pack Competition |

After many exciting reviews, votes, and categories, the Broadjam 6-Pack contest has now come to a complete close.
Margaret McClure & Seventhings won the overall competition with a total score of 758. Bobby Caputo was not far behind with a total score of 654. A girl named Jaen slid right into 3rd place with a total score of 452.
After viewing the leaderboard, among other top ranked artists, Kendra Legare-Jackson's submissions, alongside the song we co-wrote together "Keep it Light," finished at 13th place with 189 votes in the overall competition putting us in the top 20 runner up winners! This is 6 places down from the initial overall rank of 7th place, but various prizes from Broadjam sponsors are still on the horizon! In the "What does it Say?" category where "Keep it Light" was competing, the ranking parked in at 6th place with 76 votes!
The contest's grand prize winner will get $16,000 worth of gear and prizes including a trip to the 2008 ASCAP Expo! Additionally, Musik Reviews will give the winners a PR, Web Distribution and Review Service.
This contest from the pre-recording phases right down to the finish has been one of the best musical experiences that I and my songwriting company has ever had. It's a celebration of my first true co-written song with Kendra Legare, the lyrical master mind as before I did several background arrangements and vocals for this locally known artist on tracks like "Players Play the Game," "Got to Be a Reason," "Gimme Some Suga," "Don't Get it Twisted," "Powers That Be," "Holding on This Time," and more (www.klegare-jackson.com). Now, we can regard this contest as a true starting point of a prayerfully ongoing co-writing relationship.
Future plans for the marketing of "Keep it Light," include possibly going into the studio to polish it up for shopping to Fantasia for her up and coming album! Plans are still in the works for this project.
There are many people and entities I wish to thank in making this entire process run smoothly. First, I would like to outwardly thank Kendra for inviting me to write on this project with her. Second, I would like to thank B Rob who provided a slammin' track (www.brobproductions.com)! Yes, he is the master mind behind the music to "Keep it Light!" We used his beat as part of the contest and his beat was already chosen directly by Broadjam to be in this contest for that category. Third, I would like to thank Broadjam for having such comprehensive and concrete contests and opportunities. Fourth, I would like to thank Artistopia for their ongoing support of my work and vision since March of 2004. Fifth, a big thank you goes out to all who have supported me, even if it was moral.
In the music industry where risks are rare and A & R's are more concerned about keeping their jobs than they are about finding that truly unique star quality, I am still determined more than ever to keep going while continuing to embrace the music vision. This contest has been instrumental in aiding me to step up one notch closer to my never ending dream.
