Katrise Proves to be "Like Toxic" in her new Song

Hello all fans and fellow artistopians. I have composed and recorded a new song entitled, "Like Toxic." My hope is that everyone will get a chance to give this song a listen and as always leave as much feedback as possible. However, I'd also like to talk about the inspiration behind this song. On the surface, "Like Toxic" sounds like a club friendly dance tune that can easily be mixed in by the most skilled DJ with popular dance songs like, "Castles in the Sky" or the dance mix of "Ordinary World." My initial purpose for writing this song was to submit it to a movie that is in the process of being developed called, "Cook," a comedy horror film. The music supervisors were looking for something along the techno/dance genre of music and "Like Toxic" is what I came up with. Peering beneath the surface, though, this song proves to be much more than what it appears. The words in the song are basically a play on how others perceive me. I have had so many experiences where people make me out to be this bad person. From the way they describe me you would think that I'm 'like toxic' waste. That's why I use the hook, "Don't get too close to me I'm like toxic" and towards the end of the song in the second verse I say, "harmful is how people paint me." Basically, I'm making fun of people for being too shallow to really get to know me. They look at my 'explosive' appearance and hard knock lifestyle and get scared away from it. In a way, by telling people not to get too close to me, I am daring them to dig deeper. What I love about this song is that you can accept it multiple ways. The two most obvious being as a dance song and/or as a song where you can ponder over the piercing reality of the words. After all, realism is what I am all about as an artist. I really have enjoyed finding new and interesting ways to keep my music real and still appeal to audiences of all nationalities and backgrounds at the same time. It's people like you who help me to embrace the music vision as I always say in my coined phrase. Thank you for your support and please help me get the word out about this song.
