KATUV'S ANOINTED WORSHIP ALBUM RELEASE

Published on 5/10/2007
By Artistopia
ARTICLE TEXT:
Q. To set the tone for the readers, how would you describe your sound?

KATUV is an eclectic style of music engaging Ethnic music, Celtic music, and Christian music into unique and exciting compositions.

Q. So you are about to release a new album, tell us everything about it starting with the name of the album.

The title of this Worship project is “Living Water.” The sound is both meditative and upbeat. Sometimes a blend of sweet, soft Scriptural melodies with rich, angelic, layered vocals, acoustic guitars, Native American flutes and Middle Eastern percussion. Other times energized and uplifting with ethnic strings, world percussion, electric and acoustic guitars.

Q. Who else was involved in helping you bring this album to fruition?

Charlene Kay Wirth provided the awesome vocals. And I’m not claiming this just because she is my wife. REALLY! Well I guess you will have to be the judge. Seriously, she is a professional and has recorded several projects, has sang internationally, and has won numerous vocal awards etc., etc., etc. Chet Chambers from Sweetwater Productions is our Mastering Engineer and I would also like to give credit to Steinberg’s Wizzoo Darbuka and their Middle Eastern percussion players. They provided some of our ethnic grooves and are excellent!

Q. What would you say some of the challenges you encountered in doing this album were?

I have recorded several other albums and I will have to say this was one of the smoothest projects of all. Kind of scary!

Q. Can you give us some insight into where, what or who motivated you to do the album?

Well, our other two albums are kind of rooted into giving strong messages about social issues. It was a desire of ours to proclaim injustices with music. So with that said, I really wanted to focus on writing music that was more uplifting and worshipful this time around.

Q. What would you say is the best single and why do you think it is?

I would have to say our title track “Living Water”. Coming from a Christian perspective, it is the essence of this Worship album. This song clearly defines what this project is all about. It is very worshipful, has a nice instrumental arrangement, and leaves you longing for more!

Q. Are you planning to produce videos for any of the songs on this album?

We would like to.

Q. Are you planning to tour to promote this album? If so, when and where will you be performing?

We have not set any dates as of yet.

Q. So how do you see this album propelling your career in the music industry?

This Praise and Worship Album bridges the gap between all generations and cultures! I believe it will be a favorite of many who enjoy Praise and Worship music unlike any other they have listened to. And to prove myself, we will offer some free downloads from this album at our website. (See following question for the URL.)

Q. And we can’t forget to ask, of course, when and where can fans buy this album?

Our official band website- www.katuvmusic.com

Q. One last question for you: What other great things or projects can we look forward to hearing about from you in the future?

We are working hard in promoting our music into documentaries and film. That is our mission; to reach out to a multitude of people not only through audio alone, but through audio/visual as well. And of course, more unique and exciting music!

We would like to thank you for talking with us and we wish you all the best!
