Artist Biography

Born overseas in the country of Great Britian, an 80's baby brought up by parents in the entertainment field. Over the next decade, KB/MiFlos found himself on 3 different continents along with the company of his younger brother and then single mother traveling abroad wherever the show took them.

At the age of 15, KB/MiFlos was active in music picking up the saxaphone and composing his own music scores.
While attending high school in Florida, he was exposed to freestyle battles and became intrigued with the lyricist he began to associate himself with. Those brief friendships influenced him to become an MC.
Over the following 13 years he would find himself challenging anyone around to battle, especially his brother who was also beginning to build necessary skills and quick witts to keep up.
At 17 years of age, KB/MiFlos came into his first piece of production equipment and found himself up late spending hours in creation. By 18 KB was already producing tracks for friends and local unknown artist. This continued until the year 2003 when KB decided to follow a need to join the military forces.
October 23rd, 2003 would be the first step into a world unknown towards eventual deployment to Iraq in 2004. Here his focus was getting home alive and in one piece. Taking refuge in religion and realizing his own mortality but appreciating the smallest of joys in life.
After returning home in 2005, KB was stationed at Ft. Carson, Co living once again with his wife and son. But his sudden change of environment and lifestyle would prove to be a chaotic time in his life.
Struggling with Post Tramatic Syndrom Disorder, KB fell into a state of depression and unruly behavior. Often putting his own safety at risk, drinking was his way to cope with memories and hardships experienced over seas.
At this time, music seemed to seep back into his life thus distracting him from self destructive habits. During this period, his writing became much more expressive and selfless. Long gone were the days of rushing rhymes together. These writings were deep and concentrated, exposing what had built up inside during times of turmoil and uncertainity.
After leaving the service in October 2006, KB was home again in California. Determined to pursue his career at any cost, KB has created a library of Hip Hop instrumentals that are as diverse as his thoughts. Not sticking to any particular style, KB blends everything from old school break beats to laid back Jazz inspired pieces.
That first year back in California, KB and longtime friend and fellow artist, Kleenwatta, formed the Hip Hop group named SILENCE OF MAN. This was a change in direction and artistic conceptions for both being their music was much more political than it was clubby from times past.
But after personal matters in Kleenwattas' life had slowed production to a crawl, KB once more reinvented himself in order to break free of the mold he found himself in.
Now KB/MiFlos is the current manifestation of this 27 year old lyricist. Deciding to incorporate all his talents, this highly inclined musician composes all his material and produces his unique blend of lyrics along with song. He is truly an inspiring writer and gifted producer making his own niche in a overcrowded genre filled with one hit wonders and passing fads. His music is his own and well worth a listen.
Working on his current spring release of the album 'Orchestra Of Life' KB/MiFlos also finds time to head up the Bay Area based Hip Hop site Dabeetz.com designed for the young upcoming artist in mind. KB also continues to produce demo tracks for local Hip Hop artist looking to break away from the stereotype image associated with the areas Hip Hop scene.
His immediate plans are to develop his own recording label, Tryumph Music, only taking artist who can bring intelligence, insight, respect and compassion back to a struggling genre.
