Album Summary
More Laid-Back And Nightclub Than Raw And Roadhouse, This Third Disc From Montreal-Raised Ray Bonneville Shows Him To Be A Fluent Translator Of The Blues. Neither A Distinctive Vocalist Nor Guitarist, Bonneville Nevertheless Uses The Genre'S Building Blocks To Come Up With Songs Both Familiar And Fresh While He Maintains A Loose And Accessible Groove That Appeals To Both Pop And Blues Fans, Though Perhaps Not Purists. "Oh, It'S You" Is Hopelessly Melancholy, While The Title Track Is A Quiet Storm Of A Tune. "Canary Yellow Car" Is A Jaunty, Mandolin-Backed Kiss-Off Tale And Colin Linden'S Slide Guitar Adds A Note Of Regret To The Confessional "Foolish" And A Buzz Of Playfulness To Upbeat "The Changing Sky." With Titles Like "Don'T Look Back," "The Price To Pay," And "Gone Too Long," It Might Seem As Though Bonneville Has Nothing New To Say, But He Says It In Such A Pleasurable Way That It Hardly Matters. The Nashville-Recorded Gust Of Wind Won The Best Blues Album Juno Of 1999. --Shawn Conner

Album Summary
2009 album from the British Hip Hop/Grime MC. If there is one theme running through the magical existence of Lady Sovereign, then it's that of being a fiercely independent creative spirit who, one way or another, was born to be different. From grasping her unique talent for rolling her tongue around words at the tender age of 13 to selling over a million units of her single, 'Love Me Or Hate Me'; the story of Sov's charmed life is one of stellar achievement against a backdrop of the most unlikely of circumstances. Features the singles 'I Got You Dancing' and 'So Human'.

Album Summary
Lady Sovereign is a young, incredibly-talented MC from northwest London. Her first stateside release is a greatest-hits hodgepodge with one new tune and several remixes that bring the guest stars and are actually pretty great. She may be 5'1" but there's nothing small about her talent; Sov's hyper-hyper flow is Ritalin-ready and often as self-deprecating and hilarious as it is barbed. As she sings on "TK TK," "Now, look at me, the multi-talented munchkin." The strength of her call to arms "Random" and the wiry, awesome "Ch Ching" is undeniable. She's got a great backstory: born and bred in rough and tumble projects, she became the sole female performer of note in the testosterone-soaked grime scene, and word is she's signed to Def Jam via Jay-Z at the age of nineteen. She's no politico really, which explains why she's been called M.I.A. Lite, while those who call her Feminem might be up to something. The difference of course between her and the Slim Shady is that her vitriol runs far less deep; she's much more interested in getting the party started. Vertically Challenged is a swell and short debut, but if you expect great things from Lady Soveriegn in the future, odds are you'll not be disappointed. –Mike McGonigal
A 5 ft 1 pixie with giant passion, ambition and sheer raw talent, if there is one theme running through the magical existence of Lady Sovereign, then it s that of being a fiercely independent creative spirit who, one way or another, was born to be different.
From grasping her unique talent for rolling her tongue around words at the tender age of 13 in the bedroom of her North London council estate, to being signed to Def Jam by Jay Z; from being kicked out of school at fifteen for avoiding class, to performing on David Letterman, touring with Gwen Stefani, recording sessions with Pharrell and The Beastie Boys and selling over a million units of her single, Love Me Or Hate Me ; the story of Sov s charmed life is one of stellar achievement against a backdrop of the most unlikely of circumstances..
Lady Sovereign is back with a new record entitled Jigsaw, the album will be released on her own Midget Records. Album will feature hit single I Got You Dancing and So Human .
This is a special edition with bonus disc featuring 5 remixes and 2 videos I Got You Dancing and So Human .

Album Summary
UK pressing of the debut album by female British MC Lady Sovereign features one bonus track: 'Pretty Vacant' (Live At Commodore Ballroom). Her recent success in the US is all the more remarkable because she’s steadfastly stuck to her uniquely UK sound. You’ll find no Neptunes makeover. No MOR ballads have snuck into the set. Sovereign’s still rhyming about shepherd’s pie, Tango and Tony Blair. She’s still playing havoc with musical genres; mixing up Rap and Pop, Punk and Grime, the social comment with the wisecracks. In other words: she’s still all the things that made her stand out in the first place. The album features fourteen tracks including early singles ‘Random’, ‘Public Warning’ and ‘Hoodie’ as well as new single ‘Love Me Or Hate Me’ (which has sold over 125,00 digital units in the US so far and the video for which has seen Sovereign become the first British artist to have the No.1 most requested video on MTV US). Island. 2007.
