Last Perfect Day music music genre drifts between rock jazz some electro, melodic with a hint of classic - whatever, it is different. I am a pianist not a vocalist – all instrumentals, so park off and chill without singing and pointless phrases to cloud your thoughts. Let your mind paint the pictures over the background provided buy the music. Influences (humble) – Baroque, Mike Oldfield, Genesis and todays prog-rock groups
The name, `Last Perfect Day` was inspired by an illustration in Carl Sagan`s book Cosmos, the paintings found at www.pantherhouse.com/newshelton/the-death-of-the-earth-and-sun describing the final sequence of events in the life of the sun. The picture shows the sun rising for the last time over a tranquil seashore scene, as a provider of life, rather than the role it would soon to become as a taker of life.brbrLast Perfect Day arose from the demise of garage band Phydeaux in 1985. Influences were, and still are derived from the prog rock agents of that era.brTogether with assorted relics of amateur studio gear, Dave Parmee started the home recording of his original music using two cassette tape decks bounced through a small multitrack mixer. brNo easy task with the challenging `studio` arrangement, but within a couple of years three tapes had been written recorded and produced.brThe studio is now a well organized digital affair with all new instruments, but with the same dedicated approach. I currently have two completed CD`s artwork et al. brIn order to enjoy the physical reward of years of dedication to the production of my own music, I have been distributing completed CD`s locally, and spreading the songs through internet music hosting websites.
Artist Mission
Scanning through the internet music hosting websites, it is obvious that the bias is on heavy metal rock, (which is one of many genres that I enjoy), or on the more desperado rap and house/club genres. How about a different angle, that is leaning towards the far greater number of music listeners who prefer something easier to listen to, without having to dredge out the old standards over again. LPD embodies an unusual, but highly listenable blend of alternative, with classical and electronic nuances. At this stage all productions are instrumental, perfect for motoring to, at work or after a long day.brI am more than happy to post off free CD`s, just leave the relevant details on the message board.brThanks for your time.br
Music Influences
Mike Oldfield, Pink Floyd, Focus, (you can see where this is going..)
