HEADLINE: Album Release Interview with LIL MACC LOCO
Q. To set the tone for the readers, how would you describe your sound?
Hardcore Street
Q. So you are about to release a new album, tell us everything about it starting with the name of the album.
My new album is titled The Walking Dead Man and is a CD full of my thoughts and views on the world at the time of its creation. I titled the CD after a nickname that was given to me while I was locked up in the ADOC. It is an unfiltered look inside of my mentality before and while I was locked up, so it seemed extremely fitting
Q. Who else was involved in helping you bring this album to fruition?
My OG Small fry, Andre, My OG D. Dove(R.I.P), Waylock, and my boy Bobbye Benson
Q. What would you say some of the challenges you encountered in doing this album were?
The rap industry isn’t that large a place, and with my former gang affiliations, personal beefs, and desires for a professional product. I found it very difficult to find other people in the industry that were both willing to work with me and capable of producing a product I was willing to put my name on.
Q. Can you give us some insight into where, what or who motivated you to do the album?
I used to sit around with all my homeboys just spittin rhymes for laughs and stuff and they would always say that if they had the money they would put my stuff out for everyone to hear. Well when faced with the limited job opportunities presented to an ex-con I determined that I would take control of my own financial future by creating, producing, and distributing my own product. I can’t be fired or denied a job if I run the company.
Q. What would you say is the best single and why do you think it is?
I would say that it would have to be “When Your Homeboys gone” That song is very powerful in both production and lyrical content because it talks about the pain of losing friends to the streets.
Q. Are you planning to produce videos for any of the songs on this album?
It depends on how much revenue is generated from either online sales or my album sales
Q. Are you planning to tour to promote this album? If so, when and where will you be performing?
As a small independent artist everything is based on money. Touring often cost as much or more than you make at my level. If the money is there I will definitely use every opportunity available to bring my music to my listeners
Q. So how do you see this album propelling your career in the music industry?
Because of the complexity of the lyrics and the heart of the music, the rest of the world will not want to listen to anything else in my genre.
Q. And we cannot forget to ask, of course, when and where can fans buy this album?
On my page http://www.freewebs.com/lilmaccloco just press the pay pal button
Q. One last question for you: What other great things or projects can we look forward to hearing about from you in the future?
Well I will be dropping another solo album called "Make way 4 the Dead man" and after that a album called Featuring Lil Macc Loco Which will consist of songs that I and other artist collaborated on?
We would like to thank you for talking with us and we wish you all the best! |
