Q. To set the tone for the readers, how would you describe your sound? A mix of new Modern Rock and Arena Rock, but with the melodies and the layers of the classic Hard Rock of the 70's. Add crisp digital production and a funk inspired bottom end, and you have it. Q. So you are about to release a new album, tell us everything about it starting with the name of the album. It's called Seven. It's basically describing how I've addressed different situations in my life. From my attitude of never giving up, no matter what, to my answers to those who try to hold me down. It's really universal. Life is full of trials, and it's really about my attitudes, actions and feelings towards them. You can apply your specific details to what you read and hear. That being said, it's not depressing or dour, in fact, it's very positive! Q. Who else was involved in helping you bring this album to fruition? My sister Paula, who put the graphics and financing together, Paul Baker, who gave me the opportunity to upgrade my studio equipment, a lot of which was in the process of dying as the album came to mix. My brother Mike, who kept the machines going long past the expiration date! I can't count out the people who believed in me and encouraged me. There are just too many to list. Steven Tyler, of Aerosmith, gave me a HUGE shot in the arm when I needed it. I was tired of spinning my wheels, really in a dry spell as far as advancing my career, encountering roadblocks left and right. And he called me and told me that what I was doing was valid. That was huge! Someone who is, telling me I am............I really needed that. That recharged the batteries. Q. What would you say some of the challenges you encountered in doing this album were? Most were equipment related, and I don't have junk! To illustrate, the song Sea Of Dreams was in the process of being destroyed by one of the tape machines as I was mixing it! I got it, but the masters are gone forever. I had a lot of equipment failures, electrical anomalies and gremlins in gear that was working perfectly until it was time to mix. Even my mastering machine died just when I went to cut. With all those setbacks, and many more that I don't have room here to explain, it would have been easy to quit. In fact, it would have been cheaper! But, like my first song on the album states, "You want to quit, to just stop trying, but that's the day that you start dying' I really believe that, and I live it, too. This album is proof of that! Q. Can you give us some insight into where, what or who motivated you to do the album? 35 years of listening, playing, gigging, writing, recording...............This is who I am, so this is what I do. Q. What would you say is the best single and why do you think it is? She Uh Huh. It's got a killer bass and drums groove, plus the bridge is just super tight. You can't just sit and listen, you gotta get up and move something! Q. Are you planning to produce videos for any of the songs on this album? I don't have any plans to right now. Q. Are you planning to tour to promote this album? If so, when and where will you be performing? That remains to be seen. In the near future, no, in the not too distant future, yes. Q. So how do you see this album propelling your career in the music industry? I have the ability to fill so many roles, and a high level of skill that I bring to each. I see it opening people's eyes to see how much I can bring to their project. Q. And we can’t forget to ask, of course, when and where can fans buy this album? Right now DigStation.
