History
The band formed in 2003 when guitarist Smith and singer Shoniwa were attending the BRIT School|BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology in Croydon , both of whom had previously been in the band Sonarfly. Early feedback about the band was largely positive. Entertainment Weekly placed the band on its November 2005 list of "Six Indie Brit Bands on the Cusp," and said the band "sounds like high-drama, heavily syncopated swagger-and-sway rock, spearheaded by incandescent frontwoman Shingai Shoniwa."Greenblatt, Leah (25 November 2005), "U.K. Corral". Noisettes along with Paul Weller (singer)|Paul Weller , Graham Coxon , The Smiths 's Andy Rourke , and members of New Young Pony Club and Supergrass performed an exclusive rendition of a specially created track, alongside their own material, to raise money for the homelessness charity Crisis Consequences. In January 2009 the song " Don't Upset The Rhythm " appeared on the advert for the Mazda 2#2007|Mazda 2 . The song was the second single from their second album Wild Young Hearts which was produced by Jim Abbiss . The album was released on 20 April 2009.
On 5 February 2010 the band released a new single "Saturday Night". The video for this song was shot solely on more than a hundred mobile phones. The best footage is available for everybody to make their own video for the song at http://www.shotbyfans.com Shotbyfans.com.
For the release of the soundtrack to the winter 2009 Musical film Nine, they recorded a 50s pop-style song titled "Io Bacio... Tu Baci"
The Noisettes' " Never Forget You (Noisettes song)|Never Forget You " is featured in the DFS furniture advertising campaign. In 2009 the Noisettes' song "Don't Give Up" has backed the "Bait" ad campaign by Timberland (footwear) for their "Mountain Athletic Series 2009" line-up in US, UK and Italy.
From February to September 2010, the Noisettes' track "Never Forget You" had been the jingle at the basis of the TV commercials and all-media marketing campaign by Vodafone in Italy. The ads featured football champion Francesco Totti and his wife Ilary Blasi acting comedy roles (project managed by the 1861 United agency).
To celebrate Dr. Martens's 50th Anniversary, in April 2010 the Noisettes released a cover of " Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've) " by the Buzzcocks (also a video was shot featuring Shingai Shoniwa alone).
A remake of their song, "Sister Rosetta", from the album ''What's the Time Mr Wolf? , was redone for the soundtrack of the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 .

On 25th of April 2012, the Noisettes released a clip of their new song, titled "Winner", onto their official SoundCloud .
Tours and appearances
Noisettes have toured Europe and the United States extensively, with the likes of TV on the Radio , Tom Vek , Babyshambles , Bloc Party and the Mystery Jets . They supported Muse (band)|Muse on a UK and European arena tour in November and December 2006, and toured the UK to promote the release of their debut album '' What's the Time Mr Wolf? (album)|What's the Time Mr Wolf? in February 2007. Noisettes also appeared at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival|Coachella festival on 27 April 2007 and performed at the Reading and Leeds Festivals line-ups#NME/Radio 1 Stage|Reading and Leeds Festivals on the NME/Radio 1 Stage in August. Noisettes also made their US television debut on The Late Late Show (CBS TV series)|The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on 2 April 2007. Shingai Shoniwa has provided backing vocals for many bands including Guillemots (band)|Guillemots songs " Made Up Love Song#43 " and "Over the Stairs". Noisettes song " Scratch Your Name " was featured on the finale episode of The Sopranos in 2007. As well, another Noisettes song was in a Bionic Woman (2007 TV series)|Bionic Woman episode.

On Friday 12 June 2009, the Noisettes performed in the "Big Top" as part of the "Girls Night Out" at the Isle of Wight Festival (the eighth), promoted by John Giddings (Solo Productions). Other artistes that night were Pixie Lott , Eddie Reader, Alesha Dixon , LadyHawke, Beverley Knight and finally Bananarama
On 28 June 2009, Noisettes played the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury Festival , England as well as an acoustic version of Never Forget You backstage for the BBC. Noisettes toured as main support with Lady GaGa during the European leg of her Fame Ball Tour in July 2009.

Since the summer of 2009, the band have been tour managed by the rock photographer Peter Hill (photographer)|Peter Hill .
On 3 July 2010, the band played Cornbury Festival at Cornbury Park in Oxfordshire. On 14 August 2010, the band played at Vintage at Goodwood in Sussex. On 16 October 2010 the Noisettes performed at the Lake of Stars festival in Mangochi , Malawi .

On 26 June 2011, the band played at Glastonbury Festival . On 13 August 2011 the band performed at the Summer Well festival at "Stirbey domain" in Buftea, Romania. On 20 and 21 August 2011, the band performed at the two-day V Festival at Weston Park, Staffordshire and Hylands Park, Chelmsford respectively.
