P.J. Olsson, born Paul Josef Olsson in Michigan (July 13), came from a musical family. His father was a 12-tone orchestra conductor, composer and an A&R executive for Motown Records, his mother was trained in vocal performance and music major, and his two brothers round out the family, makes them a "5-Part Harmony Family." Los Angles has since become his home.
Olsson began playing classical violin at the ripe age of 5, then found acoustic guitar which became the base for his musical career.
He has appeared on the David Letterman show and his song "Ready for a Fall" is included on the soundtrack album for the television show Dawson's Creek, allowing him nationwide exposure.

. Olsson has toured with artists such as Beth Orton, DJ Spooky, Rufus Wainrigh and Placebo. He is a singer, songwriter and falls under the musical genres of pop alternative, experimental, electronic, rock and indie rock stylings.
In 2003, he began working with The Alan Parsons Project.
