Artist Biography

Created in spring 2005, PALE OBSESSION spent a whole year practicing and working to reach the level of music they wanted to. What first began as a common project of bandleader and singer Joe and keyboarder Christian became a coherent band during 2005.

A lot of work, consisting in uncountable evenings at the rehearsal room and a huge amount of practicing hours, was necessary to write and ameliorate each one of the songs. In spring 2006, PALE OBSESSION decided to record an EP, including 4 of their actual songs as a first presentation to the public.

After the release of the first EP “Songs of Love and Death” in November 2006, PALE OBSESSION rushed into local charts with the first 3 singles “Between the shades”,“Kiss the sky” and “Tomorrow must be more”. Beside the first place on Radio’s hitlist, PALE OBSESSION also got Number 1 on Airplay wish list, voted by uncountable listeners.

A lot of gigs were played from 2007 to 2009, including big festivals such as “Rock um Knuedler” , “Rock am Park”, or the “Tivolirock Festival” in Sweden, granting the band an enormous experience. In 2010, PALE OBSESSION already played as support for major acts like the dutch Symphonic Metal band “EPICA” and for the best-known german top act “TOKIO HOTEL”.

Through this success, PALE OBSESSION achieved the nearly impossible for an unsigned band by engaging Stefan Helleblad, professional producer and engineer of the world-famous Symphonic Metal band “Within Temptation” ! Stefan supervised, engineered, recorded, mixed and produced the brand new album “Made of Glass” , which was mastered by Brian Gardener (Michael Jackson, Linkin Park, Christina Aguilera, Blink182, Eminem, ...) at the legendary Bernie Grundman Mastering Facility in Los Angeles.

With rocking guitar riffs, overwhelming orchestral parts, mixed to catchy, melancholic piano and keyboard melodies and surrounded by Joe MAY’s uncommon and outstanding voice, PALE OBSESSION have found their very own sound which will be kept in mind ! The perfect mixture between dark rock and bombastic melodic parts opens them a way to a very broad range of audience.
