Described as a Lauryn Hill meets Mary J Blige meets Etana, her songs are smooth, warm, and speak of love, passion, pain, feminism, sexuality, upliftment and struggle. Petra’s heartfelt lyrics have the ability to touch everybody and she is consistently growing her fan base with every performance.
Petra, currently signed to Qryptonik Records has since debuted on the hit single ‘Butterfly’ with Janny Popps which reached number one for five consecutive weeks on New York’s WBLK 93.7 FM and won a WBLK Award for Best Single of the Year award in 2009. Since then, Petra has opened for artists such as Mutabaruka, Tony Rebel, Queen Ifrica, Eddie Fitzory, Exco Levi but to name a few.
As well as having a sultry voice that can seduce the masses, her bubbly and fun personality landed Petra the opportunity of hosting her own Radio show on CHRY 105.5 FM, called ‘ The Represent Show’. It aired every Wednesday morning from 7am-9am for 5 years where she played UK RnB, Garage, Grime, Funky House and Dub Step music. She also interviewed well known and up and coming artists and personalities such as Deborah Cox, Divine Brown, Trey Anthony of 'Da Kink in My Hair', Fito Blanko, and Humble but to name a few.
Although, young, Petra has accomplished so much and demonstrated that when it comes to this business, it is no joke and it is professionalism all the way. Definitely pay close attention to this young female star as her story has only just begun…
