QFX was a dance music group, partly from Hawick, Scotland and from Newcastle upon Tyne, England and operated between 1994 and 2002. Their music style was a mix of happy hardcore and techno.
CareerQFX band members include Kirk Turnbull (producer), Steven Lawes (MC, keyboards), Debbie Hudspeth (vocals), Lorna (vocals), Stevie Scott (dancer from 2000-2002), David Goonery (dancer) and Brian Nelly (dancer).
In December 2000 they released their first album, entitled Freedom. It reached number 5 in the UK Indie Chart. Freedom stayed on that Top 20 list for 14 weeks. In January 2001, QFX covered the Moby track, "Everytime You Touch Me", which propelled QFX into the UK Singles Chart at number 22. In July 2001 the band released "You Got The Power", which reached #33 in the same UK chart. QFX also remixed songs for other musicians, including Gala with "Freed From Desire". QFX released five albums and had five UK Top 40 single hits. They were featured on over 20 compilation albums world wide. In December 2008 QFX were due to release QFX Greatest Hits, which would include all their hits, plus their remixes and feature special guest remixes, producers, and vocalists.
