Album Summary
A million years ago, a big rock fell out of the sky and landed right in the middle of Louisiana. Well, it wasn't Louisiana at that time. But that rock fell, and it hit hard making a giant dent. It gradually filled in but no matter what, it still left a de

Reissue of the Residents' classic debut originally released on Ralph Records in 1974. The whole, bizarre Residents trip started here (at least officially)! Mixing everything from Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart to Raymond Scott and Sun Ra in the world's most bizarre blender, this one is the place to start in the wild and weird world of the Residents.
Recorded in 1976, Fingerprince is The Resident's fourth album. However, when it was being recorded it was not called ""Fingerprince."" In 1976 it was called ""Tourniquet of Roses"" and was so long that it would have consumed three LP sides. The album was cut back to the standard length of two sides, which was renamed ""Fingerprince"". Thanks to the length of CD, the original ""Tourniquet of Roses"" was restored. The title ""Fingerprince"" is still in use for the longer version however.

Album Summary
2008 digitally remastered 30th Anniversary Edition of the ultimate Residents album: still strange and other-worldly but catchy and hummable at the same time. Duck Stab was originally released in February 1978 in response to a review of The Third Reich 'N' Roll which stated, "Kids today don't want to listen to music like The Residents make. There is no fun in it. You certainly can't dance to it." Even now, 30 long years later, Duck Stab is, to many people the ultimate Residents album. The kids obviously grew into adult idiots. The Residents gave up trying to prove that catchy music would be unpopular and announced that next they would record an album of wind noises and grunting. Which is exactly what they did. But that is another story. Mute.

Album Summary
The normal business cycle calls for a band to record an album, then to tour in support of it. But The Residents liked the idea of developing a touring show without the restriction of promoting an album. But after forty or so performances, The Residents wondered: what would the album that ""might have been"" sound like? So they started recording. In a short time they produced the curious, Lonely Teenager. Featuring pieces that were performed in the show as well as others that were considered but ultimately rejected, Lonely Teenager is ""the studio album that might have been.
The Residents released of their third album, ""The Third Reich 'n' Roll"" in 1976. People have speculated whether The Residents were hinting that Rock 'n' Roll has brain-washed the youth of the world. When confronted with this possibility, they replied, ""Well, it may be true or it may not, but we just wanted to kick out the jams and get it on."" The ""Third Reich 'n' Roll"" consists of two suites, ""Swastikas on Parade"" and ""Hitler was a Vegetarian."" Both are semi-phonetic interpretations of top fourty hits from the sixties. ""Our roots"", say The Residents, a bright orange carrot clutched lovingly in their hands.
