Artist Biography

The word ‘Powerful’ comes to mind when you hear the voice of ‘Summer’ (Shanna Allen). Such emotion and soothing persuasion is enough to give you chill with each note and chorus she sings.

Singing since the age of 3, this Native Detroiter dreamed of becoming a star. Growing up in her grandfather’s church, she began singing in the youth choir at the age 6.

She was a lover of Music at an early age growing up in a household that was filled with music continuously. Becoming exposed to a variety of musical genres, Summer learned to love and appreciate music for what it is and what its worth, and… to her... it means everything.

As the years progressed, she continued to sing with every opportunity; through elementary on to high school. She returned to her roots in Gospel, eventually recording a CD with close friends, but later decided to broaden her horizons, separate, and venture out by performing at prestigious venues throughout Detroit, MI. You may seen her performing at Greek town Casino, Motor City Casino, Floods Bar and Grill, Mr. Mikes. In June of 2007, Summer was announced the winner of a contest produced by a local and well-know radio personality , Frankie Darcell, “Five Minutes to Fame” from Mixed 92.3.

This unprecedented artist is coming out with her independent EP, titled ‘I Want It’. CD will be released November 16, 2007. CD Release Party will be held at THE VU inside the COBO Hall Center in downtown Detroit, Nov 16, 2007 at 9pm. All are welcome to come out!

Currently awaiting the final lines of collaborating a deal with Shawn Stock, of Boyz II Men, she endures the humble heart of the innocent and the talent of a determine artist.
