Artist Biography

Sarena Paton is known to have one of the most angelic voices in our country. After graduating from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University, receiving the Alumni Gold Medal in Spanish, Sarena has enjoyed a busy schedule with the release of her debut jazz CD, “Almost Like Love.” With her broad range and versatility, Sarena has shared the stage with Susan Aglukark, Paul Anka, the Boris Brott National Academy Orchestra, Sarah Brightman, Reba MacIntyre, Roch Voisine, Jim Witter, and Michelle Wright, as a soloist and as part of the Vox Nouveau Singers. In 2001, Sarena played the role of Christine Diae in the concert series The Phantom Unmasked with Peter Karrie. In 2002, this classically trained soprano participated in the 8th International Mozart Festival in Austria. As a jazz singer, she has performed at the World Cycling Championships in 2003, the Queen’s Golden Jubilee at Copps Coliseum, the Juno Beach Memorial and the Vienne Jazz Festival in France, the ZMF Jazz Festival in Germany as well as the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 2003 fronting the Hamilton All Star Jazz Band. Producing her own concerts since the age of 17, Sarena draws from her many musical influences to bring fresh programs to her audiences, filled with classic songs and unfamiliar tunes.
