Artist Biography

Born and raised in Detroit Michigan, Flames always knew that there was a spot for her in the music industry. At a young age she began to play instruments such as the clarinet and piano. She also loved to write poetry and short stories. Listening to everyone from N.W.A to The Fugees, Notorious B.I.G,Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige, Flames began writing verses to some of her favorite hip hop songs. That's when she began to develop as a lyricist and knew that she wanted to be a part of the culture and lifestyle that we call Hip Hop.

In 1998, Flames met another artist that was starting out that goes by the name Dirty Doc McCruddy. Dirty Doc is part of a rap group intitled D.H.E Karruptaz which consist of him and his partner MarVel. The group was recording songs for their album and asked Flames did she want to be featured on a song. Being that this would be the first time Flames had ever recorded, she was a little nervous but without having a second thought, Flames said yes. The song was titled "Say What You Wanna Say". Flames verse on that song made people notice her and respect her as a MC and she's been recording since then.

Flames started her own publishing company called Mayell Music which is BMI affiliated. Flames is also working on starting her own record label.

Flames currently has a mixtape out intitled "Flames Mixtape Volume 2" which is generating a buzz.
