(LP + MP3) The 3rd album from the late Mark Linkous' Sparklehorse, It's A Wonderful Life, was the first to be recorded in a commercial studio with a full band. Recorded and released in 2001, after Linkous' near-fatal overdose in a London hotel room, the album is a beautiful and fragile exploration of somber themes. Featuring guest appearances from PJ Harvey, Tom Waits, and Vic Chesnutt, It's A Wonderful Life is a singer-songwriter classic reissued here on 180 gram vinyl with digital download card.
Singer/songwriter/guitarist Mark Linkous began working as Sparklehorse in 1995 and, after a demo made its way to the offices of Capitol Records, he got signed to the label. Sparklehorse's 1996 acclaimed debut, Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot, is full of sad, beautiful, weird moments of spacey rural folk-rock and contains the alternative radio hit "Someday I Will Treat You Good". Dreamy arrangements, distorted vocals, and slivers of feedback add to Sparklehorse's down-to-earth melancholy and made Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot spontaneous, happy, sad, noisy, and quiet; like moments in life. This reissue comes with a bonus 7" containing "Waiting For Nothing" (ghost song in the original vinyl version) and "Happy Place" plus download card of the entire album.
Dark Night Of The Soul is an album by audio auteur Danger Mouse and the already much-missed Sparklehorse. The record sees the pair joined by the following remarkable roll call of guests: The Flaming Lips, Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals), Jason Lytle (Grandaddy), Julian Casablancas (The Strokes), Black Francis (The Pixies), Iggy Pop, David Lynch, James Mercer (The Shins/Broken Bells), Nina Persson (The Cardigans), Suzanne Vega and Vic Chesnutt. Rumors of this mysterious collaborative project began to circulate in early 2009 sparking widespread anticipation and excitement. Now, following months of talks, Danger Mouse and EMI are excited and proud to announce that Dark Night Of The Soul will be released worldwide in July.
While this beautiful, haunting record being made widely and legitimately available is undoubtedly a cause for celebration, the news is shadowed by sadness following the recent passing of Mark Linkous, who released and performed under the Sparklehorse pseudonym. Dark Night Of The Soul will now stand as a de facto tribute to this well-loved, stunningly talented yet often-overlooked artist. In addition to featuring on two songs, celebrated fi lm director David Lynch has created a series of original photographs for Dark Night Of The Soul adding a spectacular visual dimension that will be incorporated in to the artwork for this already unparalleled project.
(LP + MP3) Dreamt For Light Years In The Belly Of A Mountain is the 4th and final album from Mark Linkous' Sparklehorse. Recorded over a span of five years, and produced by Danger Mouse, the album is probably Linkous' least cohesive effort but, at the same time, contains some of his finest songs ever. A fitting swan song for a brilliant but troubled songwriter. Reissued here on 180 gram vinyl with digital download card.

Released in 1998 after Mark Linkous' accidental, near-fatal drug reaction and subsequent 12-week stay in a London hospital, Good Morning Spider lingers on the gray area between dreaming and waking, and life and death. Good Morning Spider, surely heavily influenced by Americana, blends darkness and childlike innocence, classic song writing and sonic experimentation. This second album is a result of Linkous' free-flowing, uncompromising honesty. Includes download card of the entire album.
