Career

He met band member Brian Molko through his then-girlfriend. Although he appeared on some early demo tapes for Placebo, he wasn't able to join the band at first due to prior commitments to Breed. Placebo then earned their record deal with replacement drummer Robert Schultzberg . Later, as Breed broke up, Schultzberg was departing from Placebo so Hewitt accepted the invitation to join Placebo permanently.
