History
Symphony in Peril formed in Columbus, OH in 2002 . The band gained attention quite early in their development because Shawn Jonas, former vocalist for popular metalcore band Zao (US band)|Zao , was one of the founding members. http://www.unboundzine.com/symphonyinperil.html Interview with Shawn Jonas, Unbound Zine (2004), Retrieved on 11 June 2008 Quickly, they signed with Facedown Records , and released their debut full-length, Lost Memoirs and Faded Pictures , in 2003 . The band toured nationally and internationally with bands such as Nodes of Ranvier (band)|Nodes of Ranvier and The Chariot and also performed at the Cornerstone Festival|Cornerstone and Sonshine Festival|Sonshine festivals. In March of 2005 , shortly after releasing their second album, '' The Whore's Trophy , the band announced that vocalist Shawn Jonas had left the band. Their song "Stiletto" is frequently used on YouTube videos that feature Break_(music)#Metal_and_punk|breakdowns .
The breakdown at the end of "Stiletto" is also featured in a series of videos referred to as "Drive-by Hardcore Dancing" where the makers of the video will stop pedestrians and ask them for directions to a music store, and eventually interrupt them by turning on the breakdown from the end of "Stiletto" at a high volume, and then having a car load of friends get out and mosh. This was started in Raleigh, NC and continues to be popular all over.
