Ten Forty was formed by Michael Coy (vocals / guitar) and Phil Conklin (bass guitar / back-up vocals) in a small military Kasern in Dexheim, GE in 2001. We often get the question, "How in the world did you get that name?" Well, when the band was first being formed, Mike, Phil, and former drummer Kevin Tejarina "TJ" were having a jam session in a room that was loaned to them. As the session progressed, they often wondered what time is was, due to the fact they had been playing for some time, when they looked at the clock on the wall, it said 10:40. So, thinking they had plenty of time to play before they had to call it a night, they continued forward for a few more hours. Again, they thought, surely it has got to be getting late, look at the clock once more, again it said 10:40. Without thinking of the previous time, again they played the night away. Once they realized that the sun was beginning to rise, they checked the clock for the last time, which naturally said... you got it.... 10:40. Once the guys pulled the clock off the wall, they soon realized it had no battery. Weeks later, once the band was formed and ready to decide on a name, it only seemed right to go with 10:40.
Now, 5 years later, with new addition David Basham (Drums) Ten Forty is back and in full swing with a full length CD set for release in Summer 2007 along with compalation CD series "Live Sessions" though out the year.
