RARE ORIGINAL UNCENSORED COVER: Official [out-of-print] Necrophiliac Records CD release - "Dead Boys - Younger Louder & Snottyer" (made in France). Please note the cover of this edition shows 3 of The Dead Boys posing with their junk tucked between their legs to make them appear more "lady-like". This original cover was censored for the later domestic edition. Very-good condition disc has light marks that do not affect play - almost like new. 8-page booklet-insert is in excellent condition, with the outer edge showing very light indents from casing tabs. Case shows light shelf-wear. Contains 11 tracks (the pre-mix versions of all 10 original LP tracks plus 1 Stooges cover). This was the original version of this "pre-release" mix to leak out, and was only available in this French pressing (on LP & CD) for years until the U.S. label Bomp! re-released it stateside. This version was fully endorsed by Stiv Bators who stumbled on the cassette by accident (he tells the full story in the CD booklet) and decided to share it with the world. It features one bonus track, which we believe was exclusive to this French edition (a very raw performance of Search and Destroy). Includes original liner notes written by Stiv Bators, song lyrics, and a reminisce about the band by Charles M. Young. NOT a cut-out or a CD-R, and not a promo; no punch-holes or saw-cuts. Ships securely packaged via USPS First Class mail anywhere in the world.
Much like the Sex Pistols, the Dead Boys enjoyed an outsized reputation among punk rock enthusiasts despite having made very few recordings. Part of that is because, like the Pistols, they featured a charismatic frontman in Stiv Bators, and part of that is because, like the Sex Pistols, what they recorded was so good! This is the second of the two albums they released during their short career, and while it's not quite the blow to the solar plexus that their Young Loud & Snotty debut was (poorly-chosen producer Felix Pappalardi is an obvious culprit), it's still a slice of prime late-'70s punk. Includes the classic 'Ain t It Fun'. An exclusive release from the Noble Rot label, with cool digipack packaging!
