Album Summary
When a follow-up to the first Environments record was announced, it was initially believed to featuremore material from the band's 1994 ambient radio sessions. What came, however, was considerablydifferent - and even better. Environments II is the band's first foray into more cinematic ambientmusic. Beginning with the almost classical string-based Viewed From Above, and moving on to the first of the dreamy, lightly percussive Glacier tracks, the record is vastly different to anything heard by the band before (it's not surprising to see Max Richter and Robert Fripp on the credits list).

Album Summary
2010 archive release from the British Electronica duo. Though it's debatable whether Future Sound of London actually lived up to the bold proclamation inherent in their name, the club-kid duo of Garry Cobain and Brian Dougans brought a fresh approach to creating the house and hardcore sounds that ruled early-'90s British clubs. Using an eclectic array of samples, and pulling liberally from the various techno subgenres emerging at the time, FSOL produced a sound that in many ways defined the electronic music scene of England in the early '90s, yet remained distinct unto itself. Later FSOL projects incorporated an array of multimedia effects that utilised video footage, radio broadcasts, and PC link-ups. Passion Music.

Album Summary
2010 collection, the sixth collection from the pioneering Electronica outfit. Once again they have come up with an inspired selection of tracks that had been left as just ideas at the time but now completed and mixed to be delivered in all their glory. Brian Dougans and Garry Cobain began their musical partnership and friendship in Manchester, England, in the mid 1980s whilst the two were studying at Manchester University. Dougans had already been making electronic music for some time when they first began working in various local clubs. In 1988, Brian embarked on a project for the Stakker graphics company. The result was Stakker Humanoid. In the following three years the pair produced music under a variety of aliases, followed by the breakthrough classic ambient dub track Papua New Guinea in 1992, which was also the first release under the Future Sound of London moniker.
