Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of albums from the '80s New Wave/Pop band on one disc: All For One (1982) and Little Robbers (1983). All Four One features the U.S. Top 10 hit `Only The Lonely', while Little Robbers includes the hit 'Suddenly Last Summer'. The Motels began as an exciting alternative to L.A.'s male-dominated Power Pop and New Wave scenes. Critics and locals loved them but commercial acceptance and success didn't arrive until their third and fourth albums, both of which are contained here. Lead singer Martha Davis dissolved the band in 1987, only to reform again in 1998. BGO. 2009.

Album Summary
Apocalypso was the first album I was going to do what I think Capitol had wanted me to do for awhile, be a sexy girl on the cover. Taking a page from the great Roxy Music album art, I had a complete vision of what it should be--me in a tight-bodiced green dress, hair pulled back in a ponytail, dancing in flames, with lots of cleavage! We did as all bands do--locked ourselves away in a room with a tape machine and started making demos, a heady, wonderful experience, where we made up the rules. When Capitol heard the album the reaction was something like, "We'll release it if you really want us to, but the promotion department will not work it." We went on to rerecord much of the album--but that's another story. . . --Martha Davis

Album Summary
The Motels' third album All 4 One finds the group working the fine line between mainstream arena-rock and quirky new wave pop. Their roots lie in the sleek, polished Californian hard rock that dominated late-'70s and early-'80s album-oriented radio, but All 4 One has a shiny new wave production, complete with keyboards and processed guitars. Still, it plays like arena rock, especially since Martha Davis oversings each track, but its best moments - Take the L (Out Of Lover And It's Over) and the single Only the Lonely - are pleasures that make the album an entertaining piece. One Way's CD reissue is even more attractive, since it adds the group's two other big singles, Suddenly Last Summer and Shame, as bonus tracks.
