The Raconteurs are a new band made up of old friends, consisting of Jack Lawrence (bass), Patrick Keeler (drums), Brendan Benson (guitars, vocals, keys) and Jack White(guitars, vocals, keys). The seed was sewn in an attic in the middle of a hot summer when friends Jack White and Brendan Benson got together and wrote a song that truly inspired them. This song was "Steady, As She Goes" and the inspiration led to the creation of a full band with the addition of Lawrence and Keeler. While each of these four individuals have had successful careers with their own bands, the culmination of all of their talents is what truly makes The Raconteurs a force to be reckoned with.

Produced by Jack White III and Brendan Benson. The covers for both the 7" and CD singles are limited edition. Original versions of these songs are from the Third Man/Warner Bros. album Consolers Of The Lonely.

Extremely rare and withdrawn pressing from Australia where the band were forced to change their name to the Saboteurs. This was manufactured before their label, XL Recordings, was forced to change their name, thus this pressing is printed as the Raconteurs. All copies were immidiately withdrawn but a few did make it in the shops. In addition, this three-track single features a bonus track not on the UK pressing, 'Steady As She Goes' (Acoustic) along with an additional non-LP track, 'The Bane Rendition'. Also features different artwork to the UK CD single and the Australian 'Saboteurs' CD single. XL. 2006.
