Album Summary
2011 release from the Danish Indie Rock duo. The Raveonettes' music is characterized by close two-part vocal harmonies inspired by The Everly Brothers coupled with hard-edged electric guitar overlaid with liberal doses of noise, very similar to The Jesus and Mary Chain. Their songs juxtapose the structural and chordal simplicity of '50s and '60s rock with intense electric instrumentation, driving beats, and often dark lyrical content, similar to another of the band's influences, The Velvet Underground.

Album Summary
The Danish duo is back with a pre-cursor to their next full length album that will mark the 10 year anniversary of their illustrious indie career. When you've had a cult fan base for as long as The Raveonettes have, it's only a matter of time before some of your most-loyal of acolytes begin branching out and make their own kinds of beautiful noise. In recent times, the musical DNA of Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo has been cropping up with such regularity that it prompted the British music press staple NME.com to declare the Danish duo to be responsible for sparking 'America's pop renaissance' It was a long overdue tip of the hat which drew comparisons between The Raveonettes' melodic magic and such modern tunesmiths as The Drums, Best Coast, Vivian Girls, Dum Dum Girls and even British bands like The Vaccines and Glasvegas.
According to the Raveonettes Sune Rose Wagner, it is incredibly hard being in a Danish rock n roll band cause of this damn thing we have called Jante Loven (Jante Law), which basically tells Danes not to feel superior to any other man, woman, child or beast. This translates into everyone being very scared of thinking highly of themselves and in the music world means that you re no better than this band or that band. Though Sharin & Sune love Denmark, they felt they had to leave in order to break the restricting chains of the Jante Law, but before they left, they hit up the Ministry of Culture for a couple of bucks in state sponsored tour support, called up Hilly Kristal and landed their first ever gig outside Denmark in the filthy, disgusting and legendary club known as CBGB s. Rolling Stone s David Fricke showed up along with 40 other paid admissions and the rest is pure rock n roll history...
From the time Don Ienner, the president of Columbia, asked the Raves to play Bob Dylan s old guitar for him and his posse, to the time Sune shook David Letterman s hand on national television, the expectations were high. At that time they had only released an 8 track EP entitled Whip It On and a noisy, low-fidelity album called Chain Gang Of Love. They released their final album for Columbia, Pretty In Black in 2005 and spent the next 2 years coming up with the sound and songs for Lust Lust Lust which was recorded in Sune s apartment in NYC.
The Raveonettes have always hated repeating themselves, and so they set the bar really high for In And Out Of Control . It s a strange mixture of modern and old, dark and happy. It s about rape, violence, lost love, suicide, not caring about what other people think of you and most importantly being mad and angelic! Jante Loven doesn t mean anything to the Raveonettes cause they know they made a better album than anybody else out there!

Features two North America-only bonus tracks. Vinyl includes a bonus 7-inch and full digital album download. Already dubbed "one of the first great new albums coming out in 2008" - The Tripwire.
