This fantastic album is reissued in expanded, Deluxe format to celebrate it s 30th anniversary as well as being selected as one of the Island 50th anniversary top 50 albums. The Slits were the first - and still the best - all woman band who bent all the rules. They have been a key influence on subsequent generations of women musicians, from Courtney Love, Bjork and Riot Grrrl to today's diary-like singers such as Lily Allen and Kate Nash. The Slits were one of the first punk bands - and one of the last to make a record. On its release in 1979, the record was regarded as a five-star triumph. The pioneering mix of the band s punk roots and legendary reggae producer Dennis Bovell created an extraordinary masterpiece that ranked alongside other 1979 ground-breaking post-punk classics such as PIL s Metal Box, Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division and the Pop Group s Y albums. Thirty years on, Cut is still lionised as a landmark post-punk album. Stunning digitally-remastered 30th anniversary reissue of the classic 1979 album, overseen by the band and Mojo writer Mark Paytress. 30 bonus tracks, including recently discovered demos, dub versions and outtakes that shed new light on the making of the album. Features two trailblazing BBC sessions for John Peel that capture The Slits at their ferocious best. Includes 28-page booklet with new interviews, Pennie Smith photos and extensive essay. Cut was selected as one of the top-50 albums as part of the Island 50 celebrations.
Limited digipak release containing classic Peel Sessions recorded by the all girl Post Punk outfit led by Ari Up. The Slits' BBC sessions have long been celebrated as favorites of John Peel's, and it is easy to hear why. In fact, the band's debut session was always hailed by Peel as "one of our first classic sessions". These first two sessions explode with vibrant Punk energy, aggression and wit. The third session, recorded just months before the band split, also pulsates with color and life, but points clearly to the direction in which they were heading and the areas they were exploring - Dub, Funk, free improvisation, African music and Hip Hop. This compilation includes all three sessions, plus one previously unreleased bonus track, recorded by the band on a reunion tour in 2006.

2007 two CD edition of the UK Post-Punk trio's second and final album featuring a bonus disc that contains all of the archived dub versions and an American radio interview that was used by CBS for an ultra rare promo-only release. Originally released in 1981, this reissue features new graphic artwork and two of the classic photos by Anton Corbijn from the NME magazine cover session. This record has often been overshadowed by the more controversial 1979 Cut album. It represents their natural development as artistes by focusing more on their interests in dub and world music that was well suited to their, by then, more accomplished playing style. Produced by Dennis Bovell and Dick O'Dell (Y Records). Blast First.
