Kevin Buhler| notable_instruments = The Violet Burning is an independent rock and roll band based in Long Beach, USA. The band was formed in 1990 in Orange County, California by Michael J. Pritzl .

The band is the project of singer/guitarist/songwriter Michael J. Pritzl. Their first album was released through VMG, later albums included the Mainstream releases through Domo and Northern. Currently Independent. They have toured North America and Europe and managed to sell over 100,000 discs due largely to their frequent touring. Fans affectionally call them "The Violets".

Current status


The new release by The Violet Burning, a 3 album set with 34 brand new songs titled ' The Story of Our Lives - Liebe όber Alles, Black as Death and The Fantastic Machine. released digitally March 6, 2011. A physical copy of the box set in a limited edition numbered package with an 80 page full color CD booklet shipped on April 4, 2011. All orders of the Limited Edition Package come with immediate digital downloads of the albums and digital booklet. The band toured Europe in the summer of 2011 and North America during October 2011.
