The Wake formed in Glasgow in April 1981, after singer/guitarist Caesar left future chart stars Altered Images. The enduring appeal of their Factory-era catalog in particular supports the release of this in-concert DVD, Live at the Hacienda, which features two complete sets at the legendary Manchester venue from July 1983 (supporting Howard Devoto) and a headline slot from January 1984.
