Jakob Dylan's seminal band The Wallflowers took center stage for nearly a decade. Now, after last year's "best of" retrospective "Collected: 1996-2005," "Looking Through You: Another Collection" reveals a dozen tracks previously unavailable on the group's U.S. albums. Ranging from songs recorded for soundtracks, acoustic takes, and a cut from a Warren Zevon tribute album to a radio edit and bonus tracks previously heard only on foreign editions, the digitally remastered selections tell the rest of the musical story for a critically acclaimed favorite that scored several hits, two Grammys® and a legion of fans. From the 2004 tribute album "Enjoy Every Sandwich: The Songs Of Warren Zevon," "Looking Through You: Another Collection" includes The Wallflowers' cover of the late lamented singer-songwriter's "Lawyers, Guns And Money." Also featured are four covers recorded for soundtrack contributions, led by David Bowie's "Heroes" for the 1998 blockbuster "Godzilla." The Wallflowers' version of one of Bowie's most covered songs went Top 40 Pop and earned a Grammy nomination from an album that peaked at #2 and earned platinum. Also heard are Van Morrison's "Into The Mystic" for 2003's "American Pie 3: The Wedding" (directed by Jakob's brother Jesse), The Bee Gees' "I Started A Joke" for 2001's Ben Stiller cult fave "Zoolander," and The Beatles' "I'm Looking Through You" (with guest vocal by Jackson Browne) for 2002's Sean Penn-starring "I Am Sam." A non-soundtrack cover--originally on a 2003 CD single --is an acoustic version of "(What's So Funny `Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding," written and produced by Nick Lowe and electrically popularized by Elvis Costello. Also receiving the unplugged treatment are The Wallflowers' own Top 10 Modern Rocker, "6th Avenue Heartache," produced by the renowned T-Bone Burnett, from a 1997 limited edition U.K. single, and the string section-enhanced "The Beautiful Side Of Somewhere," a 2005 U.K.-only single. Burnett also helmed the two-time Grammy-winning, Top 10 Modern Rock hit "One Headlight" from the band's quadruple platinum, #4 charting 1997 album "Bringing Down The Horse," represented on "Looking Through You: Another Collection" with its U.S. radio edit version. The remaining tracks are the Andy Wallace Mix of the Top 40 Modern Rocker "Sleepwalker" from a limited edition bonus CD for 2000's "(Breach)" plus two recordings for The Wallflowers' final album, 2005's "Rebel, Sweetheart"--the U.K.-only "Just One Breath Away" and Japanese-only "Nothing To See Here."
