The Zutons Bio

The Zutons are are a rock band from from the United Kingdom, comprised of David McCabe (Lead Vocalist), Boyan Chowdhury (Lead Guitar), Abi Harding (Saxophone), Sean Payne (Drums and Percussion) and Russell Pritchard (Bass guitar). The band was formed in 2002, with all the members coming from Liverpool. This led to comparisions with The Coral, especially as they were both signed for the same record label, Deltasonic, and had the same producer, Ian Broudie.

The band's music has proved difficult to categorise, and has been described as "pyschedelic cartoon punk" (More Info) McCabe, who is also the lead songwriter includes amongst his influences Talking Heads, Devo, Sly & the Family Stone, Dexy's Midnight Runners and Madness.

The Zutons' debut album, released in 2004, was ''Who Killed The Zutons?'' and reached number 13 in the UK album chart. It was critically acclaimed and was a nominee for the 2004 Mercury Music Prize. The band themselves were nominated for the British Breakthrough Act award at the 2005 Brit Awards.
