Artist Biography

The Newman Project emerges onto the LA music scene bringing fresh, hook-laden songs
that combine a classic rock sound with elements of pop, funk, soul, and blues. With
influences ranging from Pink Floyd to Stevie Wonder, The Newman Project composes
raw, catchy melodies that correspond with their poetic lyrics. Their storytelling delivers
emotionally driven songs, some poignant like “One Last Time,” some that groove like
“Don’t Belong Here,” and some just plain funky like “Jack Daniels.”

The Newman Project features Michelle Newman on vocals and rhythm guitar, Eric Stone
on lead guitar, David Morihiro on keys, Jesse Charland on bass, and Randy Fox on
drums. Formed in January 2005, after Newman’s partnering with co-writer Tre Carn,
TNP has been hitting the LA club circuit, playing to sold out crowds and garnering a
dedicated and ever growing following. They’ve recently been selected as one of LA’s
Independent Artists of the Month, been featured respectively on Carolyn Fox and Sheena
Metal’s radio shows, and have had 2 singles in the top 10 of LA’s Musolist for 12 straight
weeks and counting.

The Newman Project is extremely excited about their recent completion and upcoming
release of their debut album. In preparation of the album they’ve had the honor of
working with acclaimed producer/engineer Jimmi Mayweather (Bonnie Rait, The
Grateful Dead, Neil Young), as well as longtime musicians/producers Rob Wait and
Herman Eng.
