The Presence is a hard-hitting rock trio hailing from the inner city suburbs of Sydney. Emerging in 2007, the line-up features powerhouse vocalist/bassist Dave Lancaster, guitarist Julian Leuzzi and drummer Simon Vandenberg. The band recently completed a self-titled EP at Flashpoint Music (British India/The Wrights). The EP will be released exclusively on iTunes in November. The band is currently recording their debut album.
With their alternate yet accessible style of rock, support for the band is expanding with each live performance - as is their intensity and drive.
Some key influences include - Led Zeppelin, Muse, Nirvana, The Killers and Wolfmother. The Presence has pulled out the best rock elements from the decades but they’ve also kept a conscious effort in creating a sound that is distinct. One they can claim as their own.
