DUETS II is the follow-up to Tony Bennett's multi-platinum CD, DUETS, which was released in conjunction with Tony's 80th birthday in 2006. DUETS won three Grammy Awards and was the singer's best selling album to date.

Now the legendary performer celebrates a milestone 85th birthday with the release of DUETS II. The singer has completed recording with Lady Gaga and Aretha Franklin, adding to a celebrated list of artists previously announced including Amy Winehouse, Michael Buble, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Queen Latifah, Carrie Underwood and many others. Lady Gaga joined Tony for a rendition of the Richard Rodgers song, "The Lady Is A Tramp" and Bennett and Franklin collaborated on the Alan and Marilyn Bergman classic, "How Do You Keep The Music Playing."

Phil Ramone produced the original DUETS as well as DUETS II.

Veteran crooner Tony Bennett will release his next studio album, "The Art of Romance," Nov. 9 via RPM Records/Columbia Records. The 11-track, Phil Ramone-produced set features the song "All for You," which is a version of the instrumental standard "Nuage" with lyrics newly penned by Bennett.

Tony Bennett s warm style is especially winning on classic Christmas material. The Classic Christmas features 17 songs from 4 of Bennett s Christmas Albums,
hand-picked by Tony Bennett himself, as well as the previously unreleased "What Child Is This."

The Classic Christmas includes 5 tracks from the Grammy-nominated A Swingin' Christmas (featuring the Count Basie Big Band). A beautiful arrangement
on "I' ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" (which also happens to be a rare duet with his daughter, Antonia Bennett) compliments the great accomplishment
of treating standards, like "I ll Be Home for Christmas" and "My Favorite Things" -- as though they were ripe for the re-imagining (which, of course, they are).

Five tracks are pulled from Bennett s 1968 release, Snowfall: The Tony Bennett Christmas Album, which features a playful orchestral backup, courtesy of
Robert Fanon. The versions of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)" emphasize the
romantic elements to great effect, while Bennett s take on My Favorite Things is superlative. Where so many artists just re-make the same holiday album
every other year, Bennett has opted to append new material to his sole original.

When the first version of this impressive box set was originally released in 1991 (as Forty Years: The Artistry of Tony Bennett), it put the capstone upon Tony Bennett's remarkable return to prominence by looking back at a legacy that had been overshadowed by that of the colossus Sinatra. The collection methodically traced his career from his first Columbia record, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," in 1950, through the hit singles and key or capriciously selected album tracks up until 1972. Then, after borrowing three tracks from Fantasy's 1975 Tony Bennett/Bill Evans project (including an exquisite "Some Other Time" with a "Peace Piece" introduction from Evans), the box leapt ahead 11 years to contemplate Bennett's unlikely resurrection as an icon of the cynical young. From there, Fifty Years departs from its predecessor by adding a fifth disc which, at 23 tracks, boosts the total from 87 to 110 tracks. Bennett's unlikely popular success during the '90s and 2000s is surveyed with a parade of Grammy winners, including selections from 1993's Perfectly Frank, 1994's Steppin' Out and MTV Unplugged, 1999's Bennett Sings Ellington: Hot and Cool, and 2002's A Wonderful World (among others).Bennett's early records are almost operatic in feeling, a honey-smooth Italian tenor building toward histrionic climaxes, but the voice eventually busts loose into an outgoing, life-celebrating baritone, and, by the 1980s, reemerges as a darker, softer, even somewhat raspy replica of itself... ~ Richard S.
