In 1997, when its members were still in the ninth grade in high school, the group formed with the stated intention to become "Gods of Crunk." Dirty Mouth was leader of the school's snare drum line and was already writing his own rhymes. Don P was rapping and producing beats with his Keyboard instrument|keyboard , and Lil LA (aka Lil Atlanta ) was an aspiring promoter, later to become a rapper himself.
Lil Jon visited one of their performances and not long after, signed them up to BME Recordings . Their single, "Neva Eva," which was used as the theme for the 2004 Atlanta Braves , started climbing up the charts in late 2003 in music|2003 . The group then started working on their first album, which was released in 2004 in music|2004 . The album, The King of Crunk & BME Recordings Present: Trillville & Lil Scrappy , included guest appearances by such 'Dirty South' rappers as Lil Jon, Pastor Troy , and Bo Hagon. The next single off the album, "Get Some Crunk In Your System," received some play time, but never lived up to its full potential. However, the third single, "Some Cut," featuring Cutty (released on February 15, 2005) received significant airplay on the radio nationwide and became another big hit, peaking at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and getting a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America . "Some Cut" is both the group's and Cutty's most successful song. Trillville also recently appeared with Chingy on Tyra Bolling 's "Country Boy (Remix)".
Girl Talk (musician)|Girl Talk , the mashup DJ, sampled Trillville's "Neva Eva" for the final seconds of his 2006 in music|2006 Night Ripper release.

Trillville members' Don P and Dirty Mouth are graduates of Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, GA.
Dirty Mouth left the group in 2007 to pursue a solo career, but later returned to the group in late 2009.
Lil' Atlanta's solo album "It'z Me" released on July 28, 2009. He is currently signed to SMC Recordings. He graduated from Columbia High School (Decatur, GA) in Decatur, GA.
Trillville's song Weakest Link refers to the The Weakest Link#Voting and elimination|famous dismissal dished out by Anne Robinson on the actual game show; the lyrics mention: "You are the weakest link, goodbye!".
