Artist Biography |
|
|
|
Near-classical guitar playing that takes to the sky and malingers majestically, paired with intimate, haunting & unique vocals.
Vertigo Butterfly began in Seattle in 2000 as an acoustic duo before playing & traveling across the US - from the lush northwest to gorgeous, staid New England & then the dizzying southwest, eventually returning here to the northwest.
A passion for recording and creating music in a home studio superceded the love of playing live, at least for a time. 'There is such an intent & peaceful focus being at home and creating... while the other hand itches to travel again.'
A second Vertigo Butterfly CD is in the pre-production stages and will include several guest musicians (playing violin, cello, piano & more).
For the disc '1932' John plays all of the instruments (guitars/bass guitar/mandolin & drums) and is acting studio engineer & mixologist; Luray sings, concocts melodies and writes most of the lyrics.
Disc-Mastering by Brian Chapman (Zoo People) of Beacon Street Studios in LA (Stone Skipper Mastering).
Artist Mission
The main focus for Vertigo Butterfly is to produce songs for use in independent film & other media related soundtracks.
