Waterlog is comprised of vocalist Reeko Graves & producer/composer G. Gunn. Waterlog's sound has been described as the most progressive, raw, and boundless form of urban music since Funkadelic's Maggot Brain and Tricky's Maxinquaye. The duo shared a paralleled history, performing throughout D.C.'s go-go scene in the 90s. Reeko was highly recognized for his appearances with the notorious Backyard Band. G. Gunn was also highly noted for performances with Sudden Death (producer/percussionist) and guest slots with the equally notorious Junkyard Band. But Waterlog ultimately granted them the spiritual ability to create the most boundless form of music that stood for their experiences. "Brained Off Drugs" marks the first stage in the development of an unclassified sound... like the 60s psychedelic reign and 90s gangsta rap. "The idea was to capture the essence of the battles we all endure as human beings... Brained Off Drugs is an album about addiction and cracking that code. We all are addicted to various forces of the world that prevent us from realizing our dreams or even taking first steps. We feel it everyday - because we are young, black, and from a major city we are immediately throw into categories. When people hear the music, they are more astounded by our ability to create it than the music itself. We're no different, but choose explorative and inventive ways to convey our thoughts, frustrations, and celebrations. This is the ultimate Break On Through recording for the trapped, the hopeless, and the visionaries" - G. Gunn
