"A top-notch compilation of classic performances with superb booklet and photos as well. This is an essential album for anyone interested in blues or string band music." The violin played a significant role in the early history of recorded blues, with its crying vibratos and sliding notes creating a dramatic and soulful sound. Violin, Sing The Blues For Me offers 24 tracks of this rare music, played by many of the greatest black fiddlers who recorded before mid-century. From the sophisticated style of Lonnie Johnson to the raw Delta blues of Henry Sims to the rollicking tunes of the Memphis Jug Band, these musicians demonstrate the depth and diversity of African-American fiddle music. Included are two early instrumentals by the multitalented Howard Armstrong, also known as "Louie Bluie," whose career in music spanned seven decades. This unique collection presents 73 minutes of vintage fiddle music carefully remastered from original 78rpm records. In addition to blues, the album contains country dances, rags and stomps, folk songs and medicine show music. The CD comes with a 32-page, full-color booklet with detailed history, complete discography, and a host of rare photographs and illustrations.
A wide variety of all time favorites - whistled! Accompanied by wonderful keyboard and guitar, The Whistler sets the record straight about what whistling ought to be.

Forgotten Voices is a truly unique take on blending jazz, world and pop styles without conforming to the bland strictures of much of today's smooth jazz format.
Some of the great musicians on this record include multi reedman Paul McCandless (Oregon), bassist Gary Brown (Airto), percussionist Marquinho Brasil (Jose Neto, Mariah Carey), drummer Walfredo Reyes Jr (Santana, Steve Winwood) pianist Kit Walker(Kitaro, Jai Uttal) and 20 other great players.
As instrumentally strong as this record is, the focus is on original songs as sung by vocalist/classical guitarist Pablo Rodriguez. Although Pablo is obviously influenced by great singers like Al Jarreau. Stevie Wonder and Bobby McFerrin (who he has studied with,) he is gifted with something very rare, a signature voice all his own. Behind Rodriguez' vocals is the equally unique and compelling writing and arranging of Brian Whistler, a seasoned jazz pianist who has composed for film and TV. A team for 15 years, this is their first release and it has been worth the wait.
In this genre bending CD the listener is taken on a journey with stylistic stops in Brasil, Africa and Bali, with an occasional dose of good old R&B and american folk/pop elements thrown in. As eclectic as this mix sounds, the sequence of songs serves to meld the CD into a fascinationg and coherent work.
