Zorba is made up of Riktam (Shajahan Matkin) and Bansi (Josef Quinteros) from Barcelona and Amsterdam, Holland. Together they created GMS in 1995. GMS came into the world of music to change it forever. Because their sound had more growl, howl and also more light and pace than anything else at the time. Thus GMS became an instant hit and the boys were suddenly a very, very busy people. Playing at parties around the world and producing music when they had time to spare. For over ten years the boys have since been at the front of revolutionizing music with precise and positive styles. In 1997 they moved to Ibiza, Spain, where they built a new studio. By 1999 they had surpassed all boundaries and become Headliners at all major events around the globe.
In this time they were hanging out with the Hammer, Momi Ocion of Father and Son. This creative genius inspired them to come out with softer trance. Thus, in a moment of enlightenment Riktam and Bansi created Zorba in 1999. They had realized the need for a project that blended the intensity of GMS, with softer morning melodies and slower tempos.
Other masterfull featurers like "InTune", the new school thumper is largely beyond any words. Heavanly refrains laced with uninterrupted percussion at highest production range. This track set a new stamard in Light Trance. Also, in their work as Zorba, the hit "In and Out" shinesz brightly and made a tidy sum at the box office of trance. All together Zorba has been a absulute success with international acclaim and recognisitian. Just take tracks "LIke anything we know" that made meteoricly huge impact on the scene, often played at at critical times at parties, to swing the mood just right. The slection under Zorba goes into tribal rhythmic delcacies that surpasses all expectations.
We can expect a new Zorba Album out by the end of 2007, which on a whole, will be a bit more slower and more intrumental. Although, it still could have some master-blaster tunage, we will see. Zorba the buddha and Zorba the Greek meet in Harmony and Celebration. This is Zorba.
