Yann Tiersen's second US album, Skyline, finds Tiersen taking a confident step forward, cementing the sound of its darker predecessor, the critically acclaimed Dust Lane. Recording with his usual large ensemble, Tiersen continues his explorations of rock and progressive sonics with a cinematic palette, but this time with a more rock feel that recalls bands from Pink Floyd to Explosions in the Sky and M83.

Already a major performer in his native France and throughout Europe, classical trained composer Yann Tiersen is best known in the US for his arthouse hit film soundtracks Amelie and Goodbye Lenin. "Dust Lane", Tiersen's official Anti and US debut, is a cinematic orchestral pop record that recalls the swagger of classic Serge Gainsbourg, the bravura of early Eno and the faded music-hall grandeur of Brits like Pulp and Divine Comedy as it veers from sunny folk-inspired songs to full choir workouts.

2008 soundtrack dedicated to Eric Tabarly by the popular French composer. The film is about Tabarly, a former officer in the French navy who is often considered the father of French yachting, Tabarly was a record-setting distance sailor who won several notable races aboard his boats, all named Pen Duick. He was lost at sea when struck by a gaff during heavy swell and knocked overboard from his yacht while on the way to Belfast, Northern Ireland. Tabarly was a two-time champion of the OSTAR, winning in 1964 - for which he was awarded the L‚gion d'honneur - and 1976. He also competed twice in the Whitbread Round the World Race, finishing second in 1973 and seventh in 1993. EMI. 2008.
